This ceramic, mix media sculpture has been in progress for awhile.
When I initially met my birth mother a few years ago, she gave me a ceramic snoopy figurine that she had glazed while pregnant with me. Adopted at only a few weeks old, my parents got a bright yellow plastic bunny for me. It was one of my favorite toys.
This project is about the nostalgia of objects in combination of my nature & nurture parental connections. Recasting both objects in an attempt to remove the original energetic sentiment - or what Walter Benjamin calls the 'aura' - and then assembling them in a narrative sculpture.
I still need to resolve what material to use for the table or alter top.
